RFPA Disability Proposals Receive NFL Response
I received a letter from Harold Henderson d. 8/5/08 regarding the disability proposals we submitted to Commissioner Goodell. (I apologize for not sending a copy along – my scanner is acting up.) Essentially, he states that no more new changes outside the collective bargaining agreement process will be made until the current CBA is extended or a new one entered into.
“Now that negotiations have begun for a new or extended CBA, any changes to the disability system will be part of comprehensive changes to the collective bargaining agreement. Please rest assured that the changes RFPA has proposed will be considered when the terms of the disability system are negotiated with NFLPA as part of the effort to reach a new comprehensive collective bargaining agreement.”
So, former players will continue to get screwed…..
I sure hope Congress wants to have another hearing soon!
