Don’t Miss Jeff Nixon Sports Report Today at 5 p.m. Eastern

If you’ve missed the previous episodes of the Jeff Nixon Sports Report you’ve missed some hard hitting discussions on the issues related to the retired player (check out previous shows HERE). Today Jeff’s guest will be former AFL great and retired player advocate Abner Haynes. For those of you younger guys, Haynes brought the ‘juke and jive’ to pro football with his speed and dazzling moves. He set AFL records with 5 touchdowns in a game and 19 touchdowns in a season in 1961. He ended his career with 46 td’s. Haynes’ efforts on and off the field helped catapult the fledgling AFL in 1960 by becoming the leagues first Player of the Year. After spending three years in Dallas and two when the AFL team became the Kansas City Chiefs, Abner helped the Texans win the AFL championship in a classic double-overtime victory over two-time champions Houston Oilers. Over 40 years later, Haynes still holds 10 franchise records including most points in a game (30), most touchdowns in a game (5), and most combined yards (8,442).
